Section 34
Scholarships to be provided
: (1) The institution should provide full scholarships to economically disadvantaged students in at least fifty percent of the total number of students enrolled in each academic session. Explanation: For the purposes of this section, the term "economically disadvantaged" refers to students who have studied in public schools and have passed the entrance exam or equivalent, and have been recommended by the concerned rural municipality or municipality as economically disadvantaged.
(2) According to sub-section (1), considering fifty percent as one hundred percent, forty-five percent of the scholarship will be provided to women, Dalits, tribals/tribals, Madheshis, disabled people and students from backward areas only.
(3) According to sub-section (1) and (2) the basis for providing scholarship will be as prescribed.
(4) Any body or institution may provide scholarship to any student for study in the institution.
